How SongVoter works
Scan. Import. Let everyone DJ.
Bring your favourite music into a shared party queue. SongVoter is free to use.
1. The host starts the party
Download the Android app, create a party and connect your speakers. Enable YouTube, or connect the installed Spotify app with your Premium account. Keep the host screen open: the music and a large QR code stay visible together.
2. Guests scan the QR code
Use your phone camera or any QR reader. The link opens songvoter.party and joins the right party. Guests need no app download and no SongVoter sign-in. An anonymous profile is created automatically.
3. Bring a favourite list
Already saved favourites in SongVoter? Tap “Use my favourites” to bring them into the party. Otherwise tap YouTube or Spotify, allow read access, choose one of your lists and import. You can also paste a YouTube playlist link. Authorization lets us read your music; it does not change your playlists.
4. Heart the songs you want to hear
Import up to 30 favourites per profile, or search and add individual songs. Existing favourites are kept; duplicates only count once. Larger imports fill the remaining spaces, and unavailable items are skipped. You can remove a favourite to make room for another.
5. Let the queue keep moving
Your profile has a shared voting weight, divided between your favourites. A long list cannot multiply your influence. Guest profiles have less weight than the host or a verified profile. Songs with support rise in the queue, and recently played songs get their turn less often. Playback moves on automatically when a song ends.
Keep your favourites for the next party
Favourites belong to your anonymous profile and remain after you leave. Use the same browser or device to bring them to your next party. Clearing browser storage or changing devices creates a new profile. You can disconnect a music account from the import screen.
A note about music services
YouTube plays visible, embeddable videos. Spotify playback needs the host’s Premium account and the Spotify app. Account imports depend on provider access: Spotify development apps can read lists you own or collaborate on, and may restrict eligible accounts. A source the host has not enabled waits in the queue. The iPhone browser can join; the host app is available on Android first.
